Milan based interior design office EligoStudio and architectural finishers Aliva UK have joined forces with build specialists Create Bespoke Beauty to bring inspired Italian flair to a Notting Hill townhouse.

EligoStudio designed the dramatic interior on the four-storey private dwelling, which was given a bespoke, luxury finish throughout by Italian-backed Aliva UK’s Metropolis range of paints and polished plasters. Expertise from the Create Bespoke Beauty team of master craftsmen brought the space to life with exemplary, high-spec work. The house sits on Ladbroke Square, one of the largest private garden squares in London, which is Grade II listed by English Heritage.

A key feature of the space is a statement central staircase finished in Aliva’s Metroresin in highly polished azure blue. The walls are finished in a subtle pearlescent Senso effect in orchid tint, with the Metrostone cement-effect floors in the same shade. The ceiling is in Metropolis aqua divina. Doors and windows are finished in Metropolis enamel matt paint.

Metropolis sales manager Tom Kitchener said: “It was a challenge to achieve the seamless finish that Eligo Studio’s design demanded. Normally our Senso paint is dragged horizontally to achieve a textured effect. For this project, it was applied vertically from the fourth floor right down to the basement of the house, with no visible breaks in the finish.

“Another challenge was achieving a flawless finish while working with a number of different substrates. The support for the staircase also had to work with the metal stringers running underneath it and down to the basement. In the basement, we had to exactly match the orchid tint running from the floor up the wall and into the ceiling.”

Andy Young Founder of Create Bespoke Beauty said: “The combination of expert design and specialist craftsmanship ensured that every element of the project was considered – translating to a dramatic and bespoke interior with a sumptuous luxury finish and unique personal touch.

Working with specialists that we have forged a strong relationship with in complex electrical installation, enabled us to install all specified lighting into both Lutron Homeworks 4 and Crestron home automation systems. We then used our own in house teams to fulfill all the required interior finishes and custom joinery.

“Our expertise in craftsmanship, engineering, and project management, enabled our team to fulfill these most specific and specialist design requirements with ease and on schedule.”

Co-Founder and interior Architect Alberto Nespoli of EligoStudio said: “EligoStudio consultant design team has worked on a scenographic concept focus on the serpentine blue staircase. This important element is the connection sign between all the spaces of the house.

EligoStudio have designed the entire project from the sketching to the 3d visualization and the choice of style, materials, design solution and technical details, also taking care over the design and production of each piece of furniture and working with the best Italian artisans from Eligo’s network. Other important elements of the concept are the design of the wallpaper and lighting. EligoStudio have worked closely with Barovier&Toso, the historical venetian brand, developing new colors solutions and creating glass color chandeliers and lighting sculptures”
